11" Faceless Dominican clay doll

Made of terracotta clay and painted in beautiful bright colors. The dolls represent the women selling produce door to door in the towns and cities of the Dominican Republic. These ladies are called "Machantas" a word that comes from the English word merchant. To this day they remain forever nameless and faceless to honor all the women who have bought their produce for years.
